Introduction: The preparation and overcoming of cadres and reservations is carried out in accordance with the policies of the Communist Party of Cuba, the State and Government. The National School of Public Health as a Branch School for the preparation of the cadres and reserves of the health sector, was considered as one of the institutions authorized to teach the Public Administration Diploma. 403 executives have graduated in the 18 editions made in the period between February 2012 and December 2017.
Objective: To characterize the participants of the editions of the Diploma in Public Administration developed at the National School of Public Health in 2017.
Methods: A descriptive and retrospective study was carried out. The universe consisted of 64 executives who attended the three editions of the Public Administration Diploma at the National School of Public Health in 2017.
Results: Of the 64 executives studied, the highest percentage was male, aged between 41 and 50 years, working in the Ministry of Public Health, they have between 1 and 5 years of tenure and the highest percentage corresponds to paintings.
Conclusions: Mostly the students were cadres, over 40 years old and expressed satisfaction with the knowledge acquired in the different courses of the diploma, which are useful for their daily work and therefore perceive to be better prepared to exercise the control functions, planning and execution of assigned tasks.
