Abstract
El artículo ofrece un análisis del reflejo que en las artes plásticas ha tenido la medicina en distintos períodos históricos propiciando la comprensión sobre la integración de saberes a partir del vínculo entre Historia, Arte y Medicina. Se partió de la identificación del objeto de estudio de cada una de las disciplinas interrelacionadas; la selección de imágenes de pinturas, esculturas y grabados que reflejan tanto a la medicina, su especialidades, así como a los médicos y enfermedades y su análisis en distintos períodos históricos. Historia, Arte y Medicina se han relacionado en sus saberes a lo largo de la historia dejando para la contemporaneidad un legado donde se vinculan la ciencia, el disfrute estético y la historia. La genialidad de pintores y escultores de distintas épocas de la historia de la humanidad encontró en la medicina, su evolución, sus especialidades y hasta en los propios médicos y enfermedades, fuente para la creación que hoy forman parte de la Historia del arte.
