De luto la salud pública cubana por el fallecimiento del DrC Juan Vela Valdés

El 27 de abril de 2022, la medicina, la salud pública, la educación médica superior y la Revolución cubana sufrieron una gran pérdida, con la desaparición física del destacado profesor y salubrista DrC. Juan Vela Valdés, a la edad de 77 años.
Por su tesis para obtener su Doctorado en Ciencias de la Salud titulada «Formación de médicos para los servicios de salud en Cuba: 1959-2014», una investigación histórica de corte cualitativo donde se empleó el método histórico-lógico, el Dr. Vela recibió en 2016 el Premio Nacional Academia que concede anualmente la Academia de Ciencias de Cuba a los resultados más relevantes de la investigación científica cubana durante el año.
Durante su vida recibió múltiples reconocimientos, distinciones y medallas. Pero todos estos altos galardones obtenidos, no m enguaron en nada su modestia, su amor a la profesión, sus condiciones humanas y su amor a la Patria.
Por último el pasado, 12 de mayo del 2022 en acto solemne en el Aula Magna de la Universidad de La Habana, le fue otorgado el título post-mortem de Doctor Honoris Causa de la Educación Superior Cubana
