Introduction: This research addressed limitations in the management of the training process in the Distance Education modality of the Master's Program in Applied Medical Informatics, specifically the coordination of the pedagogical, technological, organizational, and human resources components to ensure program quality.
Objective: to design a methodological and management strategy for the implementation of Distance Education in the Master's Program in Applied Medical Informatics, geared towards informing decision-making by program directors.
Methods: an applied research study was conducted, employing a mixed-methods approach and a non-experimental design. The diagnostic assessment was carried out through document analysis, a survey of 18 professionals, and interviews with specialists. The instruments were validated by expert judgment, and their reliability was assessed using Cronbach's alpha. The strategy was structured in stages, with a system of actions, indicators, and responsibilities, and was validated by nine experts.
Results: a management-oriented strategy was designed, integrating stages, actions, and indicators to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate the training process. The validation showed high levels of relevance, coherence, and feasibility.
Conclusions: the strategy constitutes a valid methodological tool to guide managers in managing the training process in distance education, contributing to the improvement of their academic coordination.
