El estudio de la violencia ha sido en los últimos años un tema recurrente para la investigación. Se amplía la antropología de la violencia en otros campos y en particular en la violencia de género. La violencia simbólica entendida como las humillaciones internalizadas y las legitimaciones de desigualdad y jerarquía, partiendo del sexismo y racismo hasta las expresiones internas del poder de clases. Se “ejerce a través de la acción del conocimiento y desconocimiento, conocimiento y sentimiento, con el inconsciente consentimiento de los dominados”
