Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor has it been submitted to another journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submitted file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect format.

  • Web addresses have been added for references where possible.

  • The text is single-spaced; the font size is 12 points; italics are used instead of underlining (except for URLs); and all illustrations, figures and tables are inside the text in their proper place and not at the end.

  • The text complies with the bibliographic and style requirements indicated in the Guidelines for Authors, which can be found in About the Journal.

  • If you are submitting to a section of the journal that is peer-reviewed, you must ensure that the instructions in Ensuring Blind Review) have been followed.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE MAGAZINE Information for Healthcare Executives INFO.

The Cuban Journal of Information for Health Executives (INFODIR) is aimed at executives of the National Health System. This magazine exhibits a wide trajectory and expertise in topics related to Management and Administration in Public Health, for which we appreciate their contribution and collaboration to spread the best of these sciences.

Purpose: To generate scientific knowledge, raise culture and propitiate a better performance of the cadres, leaders, managers, reserves and quarries of the Health, which results in greater efficiency and effectiveness in the management of direction and guarantees the development of the theoretical-practical thought of health management.

Scope: It has national and international coverage visible to all entities of the National Health System and Internet, through the Health Telematic Network, INFOMED, at http://revinfodir.sld.cu

Mission: To inform and guide the cadres, leaders, directors, reserves and quarries of the Health on forms, methods and modern techniques of direction, propitiating the scientific and instructive interchange that allows to improve the culture and performance of the same ones and results in greater efficiency and effectiveness in the management of direction and allows them to collaborate with the development of the thought of direction in health.

COMMON METHODOLOGICAL REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES FOR ALL TYPES OF ARTICLES

GENERAL STRUCTURE OF THE ARTICLES

- Title: It should not be longer than 15 words, nor include acronyms or abbreviations; if institution names are used, they should be the official ones and updated. In Spanish and English.

- Authors: Each author should go online separately. Full names of all authors should appear in order of their participation.  Avoid initials. No more than 6 authors should be listed. In case there are more than 6 authors, "et col." or "et al." will be expressed after the 6th declared author.

Scientific degree and most important teaching or research category of each author, as well as their address, e-mail and telephone number.

Full name of your institutional affiliation. (Required)

Declaration of conflict of interest. (Required)

It is the author's responsibility to fill in the information requested in the submission with emphasis on the fidelity of the metadata that must correspond to those consigned in the work, especially those of a mandatory nature. Remember that these are shared in the OJS database at the international level for the knowledge of the authors. Each author must provide, on a mandatory basis, their ORCID number. (www.orcid.org).

Above all, take special care in the field that includes the ORCID Identifier.

- Other aspects to be considered by the authors: If the manuscript is not "unpublished", the authors are obliged to communicate when it has been made public or, instead, where it is available (preprints...).

- Authors must provide the primary records used for the data if requested by the editors.

- Declaration that each of the persons mentioned in the section of THANKS, authorizes to be mentioned.

- Structured summary for original articles, in review articles or position papers may be unstructured. No more than 250 words in Spanish and English, containing a brief introduction, objectives, methods, most important results and conclusions, is written in the past tense.

- Keywords: They must be concrete and representative of the semantic content of the document, both in the main and secondary contents. They must contain at least 3 key words or phrases. - Bibliographic references: Must be manually located, do not use the office application facilities. Place in superscript, in parentheses and after the punctuation mark that precedes it. - Authorship and contributions: At the end of the text should appear the declaration of authorial contribution of each author, according to the Vancouver style, in its section II.A.- Authorship and contributions: http://bvs.sld.cu/revistas/recursos/vancouver_2012.pdf

- Figures and Tables: They must be presented in jpg format, in the case of photographs (300 dpi). Graphs and diagrams should be presented in an editable format. All should be of adequate quality and should not exceed 800 pixels wide.

- Ethical considerations: The Ethical Principles of the Information for Health Managers magazine must be complied with. INFODIR.

The Letter of Authorization for publication and distribution, addressed to the journal's Editorial Committee, should be registered as a complementary file, where the title of the article, the data of the authors who assume the fulfillment of the norms of the journal and their respective signatures, as well as the approval and signature of the Ethics Committee and Scientific Council of the center that appears in the institutional affiliation, should be recorded

The section on Methods must include the approval of the research protocol by the Scientific Council and Ethics Committee of your center.

The informed consent of the participants involved must be made explicit.

The article should not contain fragments of text from previously published works or those in the process of being published in journals or other media without due citation.

- Writing: The document presented must have clarity and coherence of wording, syntax and spelling. The meaning of the abbreviations, acronyms and symbols used must be described. The use of these should not be excessive, which prevents the fluent reading and understanding of the work.

- Forms of presentation of the manuscripts: Articles should be submitted in electronic format of WORD text, in Arial 12 font and space and a half. Compressed files in any format are not allowed.

- Copyright: This journal is available in Open Access without restrictions, complying with the international policy on open access to information. The contents presented here may be used, without commercial purposes, as long as reference is made to the primary source, and is therefore protected by a Creative Commons License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0

- Mention of ethical aspects in summary.

- Techniques and procedures for obtaining information

- Processing and analysis techniques.

This section is written in the past tense (measured, counted, etc.)

Results:

- Written in the past tense

- In relation to the study objectives. Do not use decimals with dots (.), use commas (,)

- No more than 5 tables, graphs and/or figures

Discussion

- It is written in the present tense.

- Interpretation of the study objectives.

- Discuss the limitations of the study, taking into account possible sources of bias or imprecision.

- Comparison with other studies. The possible causes of the differences found between the expected and observed results are explored.

- Argumentation.

- Conclusions or global considerations. Coherence between the objectives, design of the study and the results of the analysis. Placed at the end of the article.

Bibliographic references.

Bibliographic Reviews

Up to 6000 words will be accepted, not including bibliographical references and tables and figures.

- Search criteria: clarify any established restrictions e.g. period reviewed, language etc.

- Number of articles consulted.

- Number of selected articles.

- Inclusion-exclusion criteria for article selection.

Comments for this section:

- Validity assessment: to assess the validity of the primary studies, the design and execution of the research collected in the selected articles should be analyzed. To this end, relative values can be assigned to the data, using a standardized assessment.

- Aspects to be taken into account:

-Scientific credit of the source of the articles.

-Reproducibility and objectivity of the assessments.

-Variability of its results.

-Correct combination of results.

-Criticism should be made in sufficient detail so that readers can evaluate the methodological quality of the studies.

Analysis and integration of the information (no development, no subtitles):

- A systematic basis must be established between them, which allows for pointing out congruencies and/or contradictions in the literature (not merely a list of citations or summaries).

- Interpretation of the author(s).

- Conclusions or final considerations. Coherence between the objectives, design of the study and the results of the analysis. Placed at the end of the article.

Bibliographic references.

Position paper or essay

Up to 6000 words will be accepted, including bibliographical references and tables and figures.

Final Diploma Project

It corresponds to the final works of the Diploma in Public Administration and other figures for the improvement of cadres and managers.
