EDITORIAL. Modelos Matemáticos en el Análisis de la COVID-19
Abstract
La utilidad de la modelación matemática para describir la dinámica de transmisión de enfermedades y otros procesos de la Biología, la Medicina y en general, de las llamadas Ciencias de la Vida, ha dado lugar a una ciencia multidisciplinaria que muchos autores denominan Biomatemática con un desarrollo vertiginoso a partir de la segunda mitad del siglo XX con el auge de la computación y a la que pertenecen la Bioestadística, la Biometría y la Bioinformática, entre otras ciencias. Los modelos matemáticos aplicados a la Epidemiología han demostrado ser una útil herramienta para estudiar, analizar, simular y predecir el comportamiento de enfermedades contagiosas; brindando información y herramientas para el control de las mismas.Downloads
