Se presenta el capítulo No. 7, (pag 75-93) del libro “Saber qué hacer en la dirección de la Salud Pública”, que  bajo el título de “El jefe se organiza o fracasa” recoge un conjunto de elementos a considerar para un mejor desempeño en la organización de un directivo; en los que toca aspectos sumamente interesantes como son: los aspectos a valorar para un oportuno saber y quehacer directivo, entre los que se destacan la toma de decisiones, el control por el control, las reuniones, la elaboración de informes, la administración del tiempo, el manejo de conflictos y del proceso de cambios, la visión estratégica, el despacho con subordinados y jefes y como preparar despachos con su jefe. Destina también un espacio a las Tecnologías de la Información y las comunicaciones y  el manejo inteligente de la economía
