Results of the Post-COVID-19, 2023 Editions of the Diploma in Public Administration

Introduction: As a branch school for the training of administrators in the health sector, the National School of Public Health was considered suitable to teach the Diploma in Public Administration, which is carried out in accordance with the policies of the Communist Party of Cuba, the State and government. From February 2012 to November 2023, 25 editions of this diploma course were held, and 537 managers have graduated, 42 of them in the last two editions.
Objective: To describe the characteristics of the students and their perception with the results of the Diploma in Public Administration of the post-COVID-19 editions developed at the National School of Public Health in 2023.
Methods: A descriptive and retrospective study was conducted. The universe consisted of 42 managers who attended the two editions of the Diploma in Public Administration at ENSAP in 2023.
Results: The students were predominantly male, aged between 41 and 50 years, all worked in the Ministry of Public Health and had between 1 and 5 years of tenure in the position. The highest percentage of participants were party members , who reported being better prepared to perform their duties.
Conclusions: Most of the students of the diploma course were men under 50 years of age, who served as party members and expressed satisfaction with the knowledge acquired, which is useful for their daily work and, consequently, they perceive themselves to be better prepared to exercise the functions of control, planning and execution of the assigned tasks.
