Introduction: On March 11, 2020, COVID-19 was considered a pandemic by the World Health Organization. This coincided with the date of confirmation of the first case of COVID-19, in Cuba, from Italian tourists. Months before, the country was already preparing for its confrontation through governmental decisions, together with the Ministry of Public Health, which implemented comprehensive strategies with the participation of all economic sectors and specific missions in health entities, with the objective of minimizing the adverse consequences of the pandemic in the country.
Objective: To expose the main management strategies assumed by the Mother and Child Center for the confrontation of COVID-19, in the medical care of children, adolescents and pregnant women.
Development: The Mother and Child Center is the entity within the "Dr. Luis Díaz Soto" Hospital responsible for the specialized medical care of children, adolescents and pregnant women living in eastern Havana. As of March, it assumed the mission of attending suspected and confirmed cases of SARS-Cov-2 infection in these stages of life. All this generated a series of management strategies to face such task.
Conclusions: The hospital management developed in the Maternal and Child Center guaranteed the fulfillment of the mission and the objectives set for the confrontation of the COVID-19 pandemic in the "Dr. Luis Díaz Soto" Hospital.Downloads
